Can I call NameSearch® and its functions
from my application?
Yes. NameSearch® easily integrates into almost
any environment including different operating systems (Windows,
Unix, Linux, Mainframe), different database systems (SQL Server,
Oracle, DB2, Sybase,
MySQL etc), web-based applications and any other type of server
or user applications. NameSearch® exposes
its functionality through the use of a shared library (often
called a dll or a shared object). In addition
it comes with a set of SDKs that allow you
to call NameSearch® from
almost any programming environments i. e. Java, VB.NET, ASP,
ASP.NET, C#, C, C++, PHP, Perl, COBOL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, DB2,
Sybase, etc.
What is the extent of support for non-US
countries and languages?
NameSearch® supports all non-double byte character sets.
In addition to English, NameSearch® comes with phonetic scripts for Spanish,
French, Italian. Since you can create your own rules and and
phonetic scripts, support for other languages can be easily added
into your custom solution. NameSearch® is currently utilized to process
data from all European countries as well as many South American
countries.
At present NameSearch® does not provide support for double-byte character sets such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean languages,
but in the future we are planning to add this functionality.
